Shinigami Eyes is a browser extension written by accused rapist and troon Laurelai Bailey to track down gender critical and other trans skeptical accounts so the trans movement can block, report, or harass them. If you are on this list, your account (on various sites such as Twitter/X, Facebook, etc) will highlight as red (red baaad eviiil ooooh) for anyone who has it installed so they know to target you. This has been used to fuel many decentralized censorship campaigns (being mass blocked on many sites lowers your read in their search algorithm, which means trans skepticals are getting heard less while the trans cult gets heard more from a tactic many trans skepticals didn’t realize was being used against them). This is not just a list for people who are hateful, mind you. You can get on this list for simply disagreeing with trans ideology, for unrelated malice if enough people report you, or even accidentally due to an unacceptably poor design decision in how accounts are stored and sent to clients (see “Poor Technical Design” section below for more info).

Shinigami Eyes has been outlawed in Norway since 2022 due to violating its data protection laws.

Poor Technical Design

Even if one refused to see the harm so obvious it can only be inferred as intended in this tool, Shinigami Eyes is carelessly designed. It uses a data structure known as a bloom filter that it sends to clients to determine which accounts to highlight for harassment/censorship/brigading. Without getting too technical, the short of it is that this data structure innately has uncertainty built into it (it sacrifices accuracy to maintain a small size). This means accounts that have nothing to do with the trans fight (or maybe even are in favor of modern trans ideology) can be flagged as red to be harassed or mass reported or mass blocked.

There is no way to remove yourself from the list by request once you are on it, and no objective metric to ensure only the “right” people are on it. [^] If you piss off a group of people large enough for any reason, they can libel you by getting you put on the list even if you stay out of the trans debate or even agree with modern trans ideology.
