A veterinarian student named Isadora Borges was arrested in Brazil for “transphobic” social media posts. She is facing a potential 10 year prison sentence (!). The sentence is because of two posts she made on social media, neither of which is alarming.
In 2020, she made a post saying that “biological sex is unchangeable”. A local politician reported her to the police for “transphobia”.
Because of a 2019 supreme court ruling in Brazil, transphobia is ludicrously considered a criminal offense equivalent to racism.
