Overview
On October 26, 2022, a male student who identified as a girl assaulted two female students in the girls’ bathroom (which he did not belong in) at Edmond Memorial High School in Edmond, Oklahoma. One of the girls was 15; the boy was 17. [^] It was bad enough that police were called and charges were filed. The superintendent (Dr. Angela Grunewald) put out a video several weeks later explaining the incident and that the boy is no longer enrolled.
In early 2022, one Edmond school board member said “Children who are struggling with gender identity or are transitioning have been supported in the schools for well over a decade. We have and will continue to partner with their families to provide safe and appropriate settings for their growth and development. We have not found our continuum of practices to be problematic for either these children nor their classmates.” [^] Which is evidently not true.
Outline
- October 26, 2022—A male student assaulted two female students in the girls’ bathroom at Edmond Memorial High School.
- December 16, 2022—The Superintendent put out a video covering this incident (you can watch it here).
- She reveals that the male student had only been attending the school for a few days before the incident happened.
- She states that the student “enrolled as a female and presented as a female.”
- She points out that birth certificates are not required to start school.
- In other words, they were using the honor system, which has worked for decades until trans cultists decimated honor.
- She points out that the student broke two policies:
- The first policy is against fighting
- The second policy, enacted in August of the same year (~2 months prior), mandates that all students must use the bathroom of their birth gender.
- This is governed by Oklahoma law, which restricts using facilities by gender identity instead of actual gender.
- This is based. Incredibly based.
- She uses the word “gender” correctly too! (It’s a testament to how much we’ve fallen that this is rare enough to excite me—J.C.)
- She points out that consequences were given for both policy violations and that the student is no longer enrolled at the school.
- May 25, 2023—The parent of one of the girls filed a lawsuit. [^]
