Attention Farming is the act of using social media tactics to get more attention than you organically deserve or to put more effort than is reasonable into gaining views and reposts on social media.
“Organically deserve” and “more effort than is reasonable” are, of course, subjective metrics, and like most such phrases of critique its use is up to the speaker and audience to try to align on.
